In the SDL a great amount of attention is payed to networking.
SDL is part of the "Network of Schools of Political Studies", acting in Eastern Europe under the support of Council of Europe with the purpose of promoting European values through the creation of a new generation of leaders in the region. The schools in the region are developed according to a model of the Moscow School for Political Studies, which was established 1992. Currently the network has got 15 schools. The schools are supported by the Directorate General of Political Affairs (DGAP) of Council of Europe and its role is to coordinate school activities, improve exchange of experiences and advise the schools in electing lecturers and subjects.
During 2003, the headmasters of the schools developed an agreement based on the following principles: Harmonised curriculum, exchange of experts and students, joint sessions of students from different schools and the emphasising of a European dimension.

The Nansen Dialogue Centre Montenegro is member of the network “Balkan Dialogue Project" with offices in Belgrade, Skopje, Banja Luka, Mostar, Bujanovac, Sarajevo, Osijek and Kosovo. Initiative to for “Balkan Dialogue Project” was launched in Nansen Academy in Lillehammer, Norway. From 1995 and forward, this school organised a series of courses: “Democracy, Human Rights and Peaceful Conflict Resolution” , whose participants lived in the territory of former SFRJ. The goal of this elite programme was to educate the participants and empower them for an active participation in peace initiatives, in processes of consolidation, in the revitalisation of societies destructed by war conflicts and in the building of civil societies. The next, and more ambitious, phase asked a direct engagement of former participants of the courses in Lillehammer in their original communities . Together with the Peace Research Institute, Oslo, the Nansen Academy started the forming of several Nansen Dialogue Centres in the Western Balkans. In 1997, the first office was opened in Pristina, Kosovo.
